Kids Capoeira Classes in Notting Hill
Kids Capoeira Club
Westbourne Grove Church
It all started in 2005…
In 2005 we started our first Kids capoeira Club in west london. Capoeira is an exciting Afro-Brazilian art form that combines dance, games, martial art movements, percussion and singing. The club will help children get fit, move in time to music, make new friends and work together as a team.
Based at the Westbourne Grove Church in the heart of Notting Hill our club currently takes children aged 4 to 6yrs old. Since our foundation, over 20years ago, we have worked very hard with our children and young people promoting workshops, grading ceremonies, festivals and well as developing local partnerships.
Why Capoeira?
Capoeira is an ideal, holistic activity for kids because it combines martial arts, dance, acrobatics, and music into a fun, non-competitive game that improves coordination, flexibility, and strength. It builds confidence, fosters social skills and discipline, and introduces them to Portuguese and Brazilian culture, providing a complete workout for both body and mind
Our Coach, Nelio Rodrigues (aka Prof Manjerico) has been working with children of all ages for the past 25years. His vast experience allows to adapt his methodology to the unique requirements of every participant ensure everyone feels engaged throughout the sessions.
